Brayden's Weekend at But But & Juju's

Brayden was VERY excited when I told him he got to go to "But But" & "Juju's" house (Uncle Jacob & Auntie Julie's house).  He has spent the night several times before and always had a blast!  Julie picked him up Friday afternoon and they brought him back on Sunday afternoon.  He, like always, had so much fun!  They were ready with everything from Toy Story Mac & Cheese to Seattle Aquarium tickets.  We are so thankful that Brayden has such a fun Uncle & Auntie!  Can't put into words how excited I am to be that for their baby girl on the way!!!  Here is a blogpost my sister did on their fun weekend with Brayden.

On another note, Brett had a great birthday weekend!  Sienna and I dropped off Brett for a massage Friday afternoon, then picked him up and the three of us went to dinner.  I had grabbed a few movies that I knew were on Brett's "list of movies to see" and we had a nice relaxing evening at home.  Brett and I REALLY enjoyed sleeping in till TEN O'CLOCK on Saturday morning!!!  (Thanks Sienna)  I was the first to wake up and couldn't believe it when I looked at the clock.  Both Brett and Sienna were still sleeping!

Sunday we had a little get together with some friends in the afternoon to celebrate Brett's birthday.  Fun time watching football and having lunch, cake, etc.  Pictures to come!

Happy Birthday to My Wonderful Husband!

Today Brett turns 32!

He already got one of his birthday treats.  Jacob & Julie got him a ticket to the Hawks game last Saturday!  So, as most of you know after watching the game, it was an awesome gift and Brett had a absolute blast!

More celebrations to come this weekend!

Sienna 4 Month Stats

Drumroll please....

Weight: 17lbs & 4oz.
Height: 27 inches
Head: 16 inches (31%)

Happy Sienna as we wait to see the doc.

Our traditional scale picture.

Yep, exactly as tall as my Mama and my big brother were at 4 months.
(However, Brayden was 15 pounds)

Sienna Loves to:
Roll!  Back to front, front to back and sometimes both in a row
Wiggle and Stand
Talk to Mama & Dada
Look at herself in the mirror
Smile at people
Listen and watch her brother play
Practice taking her pacifier out and putting it back in
Grab and play with her toys

Overall, she is really similar to her big brother at this age.  One clear difference is that she loves to watch people a bit more.  Brayden LOVED to smile at everyone at this age.  However, I notice differences with Sienna.  For example, we have a mirror in our entry that has a curvy black iron frame.  When Brayden was a baby he would be fascinated with the frame and I had to work to get him to see himself in the mirror.  He looked at that mirror and saw a frame.  He also loved to sit in his bumbo and look outside at the birds, trees, etc.  You show Sienna that mirror and she sees FACES!  She sees her mama and she sees her baby face and just smiles.  She also loves to sit in her bumbo and watch whatever I am doing.  She definitely has moments where she wants nothing but to just sit on my lap, make eye contact and chat!  Just as you would expect from a little girl.  :)

Sienna, such a nice BOY. LOL!

The other day Sienna was doing her normal wiggling, legs kicking & arms waiving.  She mid arm waive and smacked Brayden in the face.  He looked at her with concerned eyes and said, "Oh Sissy, you need to be nice."  She, in turn, giggled and smiled at Brayden (as she always does when he talks or sings to her).  Brayden took this as her apology and responded with a smile and said, "Oh Sissy, you're such a nice boy."  LOL!

Just one of the many cute things I get to hear around my home.  I love those two!

On another note, Sienna is BIG!  Had her four month check up the other day and she is off the charts for height and weight, with a little head coming in at 31%.  Pictures and stats to come later.  She is barrel rolling all over the place and slithering around.  Sienna loves to smile at everyone she makes eye contact with.  Three words sum this gal up: HAPPY, BIG and WIGGLY. :)

Food Strike is OVER!

Brayden, like many other toddlers, has decided that he will be the only one to decide when and what he will eat.  Brett and I have tried MANY different approaches.

We went on a wonderful trip to Leavenworth after Christmas with family.  Surprisingly, Bray ATE!  Like everyday he had breakfast, lunch & dinner with no problems!  Since we have been home it has continued.  This might seem like a silly post, but this is HUGE for Brett & I!  He is eating whatever we eat and asking for snacks in between meals (gearing up for a growth spurt?).

Last night he found the popcorn machine.  He also saw the kernels up on the shelf.  He went and got a stool, grabbed the kernels.  Then brought out the popper.  Then said, "Hey Mama, make popcorn?" . This was right after a big dinner.  We made popcorn (with olive oil & sea salt) and Bray ate a ton, while saying, "Oh Mama!  It's good!"

Yay Brayden!  We are so excited that you learned food is good for you!  :)

On another note, Sienna is just so fun!  Seriously, she keeps us smiling all day!  Her giggles are the cutest sound I have ever heard and no one can get those giggles out like Brett.  I absolutely love this age, so easy and fun!

Sleepy Boy

New Years Eve Brayden had his first babysitter over to watch him.  A neighbor girl came and Brayden immediatly had a little boy crush on her.  I anticipated some tears and had a new toy to distract him, but nope, he pretty much said, "See ya later Mom and Dad!" as he went to show Katelyn his Buzz Lightyear.

He played all evening with his babysitter, then B-Bo and Mammy picked him up so he could be in bed before midnight and stay the night at their place.

On January 1st, we were sitting and having dinner and Brayden suddenly seemed too tired to eat.  I called Mom to see how late he was up the night before.  She said, he was up later than his normal bedtime, but not that late...

Here is what the rest of dinner time looked like.  Keep in mind, dinner was at about 6pm.  LOL!  Brett & I were thrilled!  Brayden is known for fighting bedtime.  :)

The whole gang

Chapter Two: MOPS Friends

Brayden & his buddy Riley

Brayden & I had all our MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers group) friends over. As they all started to leave, the kids spontaneously started running in circles and giggling hysterically, it was so cute!

Chapter Three: Dinner @ Quincy's

My girlfriend offered to make me dinner for my birthday. So spoiled with a yummy meal at Quincy's and fun gifts!

Chapter Four: LCA Alumni Game

Bray had lots of fun cheering on Dada & all his Uncles. (Greg, Michael & Andrew)
He also really wanted to run on the court with them!

Chapter Five: Christmas Eve

 Brunch with the Overfields

Christmas Eve Dinner with all the Bodine's

Sienna's 1st Christmas Eve! She likes it. :)

Bray had his own "Toy Story" going on. It involved lots of jumping.

Buzz Lightyear & Woody were a BIG deal that day.

All ready to go home and go to bed.

Chapter Six: Christmas!

Yep, more Toy Story Toys!

Christmas Day at Papa & Grandma's Home

Sienna & I in our matching headbands.

Sienna couldn't stop smiling at Jantzen!

Best part of Christmas. Sitting with the whole family while Papa reads the Christmas story from the Bible.

Michael & I have this SAME exact picture in front of the tree, only I was one year old and he was six months. So fun to be taking these of our babies now.

One more married couple this year!  Ryan & Chloe joined the married club. :)

Four Girl Cousins & Eleven Boy Cousins,
us girls gotta stick together.

Family of Four on Christmas Day. Just last year, we announced (on Christmas Day) that we were expecting little Sienna!

Cutest little brother ever.

Sienna only wanted to nap with Mama, so we took a break to sit and rest together.

Brayden's PERFECT ending to Christmas. All the Putnam boys sat with him and watching Toy Story...
