Wonderful Holidays.

Sienna's 1st Christmas Morning

We enjoyed a fun Christmas this year.  Sienna's 1st!  We got together with (in this order) Overfield's, Bodine's, BOW (Bodine-Overfield-Washburn, which is Mom, Dad, Greg, Jacob, Julie and us) and Putnam families.  All in two days.  Brayden was so much fun this year, he is an expert at opening presents!  His imagination is just blooming is he is such a funny character!  So fun to watch ihis excitement.  Sienna was just darling and all smiles, especially in her Christmas dress with her handmade (by my good friend Carly) headpiece.

We packed up and left the morning of the 26th for a wonderful getaway to Leavenworth with the BOW fam!  We all went over together in the RV and stayed in a cute cabin a few miles out from the town.  We enjoyed walking through the town, a ride on a two horse open sleigh in the snow.  The guys did some skiing and some snowmobiling.  Brett's report when that he exclaimed as he got back from snow-mobiling was, "That was AWESOME!!!".  Us girls (& Bray) enjoyed some quality time lounging in the cozy cabin while it snowed outside.

Now we are back and ready to celebrate the New Year!  More pictures soon...

Bye bye ringlets... Again.

For the past few weeks I have been meaning to trim Brayden's hair.  You know how it goes in December, hardly a spare moment.  So hair trimming never quite made it to the top of the list.  Until I was talking to my grandpa last night.  He told me he was talking with one of his friends who ran into my mom and Brayden.  Brayden went to the Singing Christmas Tree with Mom & Dad on Saturday night (he got to spend the whole weekend there while we spent Friday with friends & had our annual Christmas party on Saturday).  A family friend told my Grandpa (aka Papa), I ran into your daughter and her grand-daughter.  Papa said, "oh you mean my great grandSON?".  The conversation kept going as the man said, no it was a girl and my Papa said, did she have curly blonde hair?  The man said yes.  Then Papa told him Brayden was a boy...

And after hearing that story, it was time to move a haircut to the top of my list.  :)

Haircut #2!  Still lots of curls, ringlets are gone.

Turning 28

A few photos from my day.  :)

Woke up to Brayden {6:30am}, who turned on my light and said, "Wake Up Mama!"  I replied with, "Good Morning Brayden, guess what!  It's Mama's birthday."  Immediately he exclaimed, "Happy Birthday to you!  Happy Birthday to you!" and then ended with a huge exhale as if he was blowing out candles.  (Brayden is so funny, whenever he sees lit candle sings happy birthday and then tries to blow them out.  And whenever he sings happy birthday, even if there are no candles, he blows at the end of the song).

My thoughtful hubby was already downstairs getting ready for the morning with a latte & cinnamon rolls.

Both Brayden & Brett sang to me, although Brayden was more interested in ending the song with blowing out the candle.

I went upstairs to get ready and heard some chatting from baby Sienna's room.  There was my smiley little girl, ready for the day!

Came downstairs to find that Brayden's "after breakfast snack" of choice was a pack of starbursts that he had found....

Brayden's birthday present to me was a home-made tunnel.  :)

Grammy picked us up and we went to lunch with Grandma & Auntie Juju!

Afternoon at the spa, getting Mani-Pedi's with my sister!  So nice.  Not that often that I get to just sit for a couple hours and relax.  I definitely fell asleep during the last portion of my pedicure...  :)

Then headed over to Mom's for a low key delicious steak dinner with the fam!

Brett & I started to take a picture of the two of us and suddenly Brayden ran in with his sippy cup!  Wanted to match our "coffees" and be included.

More candles for Brayden.  :)

Onto my 29th year!

First "back to front" roll!

3 Months + 2 Weeks + 2 Days = First roll from laying on her back all the way to laying on her tummy!  She is quite pleased with this new adventure of rolling and scooting backwards.  :)

And we're rollin'!

Sienna rolled over for the first time today!  Another marker for the baby book, 3 months & 12 days old.

(Can you tell that I also use this blog to make notes so I don't forget and write the wrong thing in her baby book)

She was on her baby play mat by the Christmas tree and finally figured out what to do to get arm out of the way.  Missed it on camera, just have an after shot.   Of course, for about a half an hour straight I sat right by her with a camera, thinking, "She is going to get it, any minute now!" and then I walk out of the room and come back and she had done it.  I had left and she was on her tummy and came back and she was laying on her back just smiling at her big accomplishment.

Love.

Love how easily she smiles.
Love those little rolls, more seem to be appearing everyday.
Love watching her little arm trying to grab whatever is close.
Love hearing her voice "coo".
Love watching her face light up as her brother sings.
Love little baby Sienna.

Photos from a few things here & there...

Papa & Grandma came by the other day for a Christmas card picture with all THREE of their great-grandbabies.

We discovered Bray likes to "lick the spoon" just as much as his mama does.

Sienna & all the boys.
Left to Right - Jantzen Putnam, Coleson Mensonides, Tagney Paddock, Summit Paddock, Sienna, Tate Mensonides, Brayden & Gunnar Patterson.

After I had Sienna it was SO nice to have all the homemade meals delivered.  The holiday season is so busy, so I asked my highschool girlfriends if they would like to each make one meal, in bulk.  Then we could get together and exchange it, and leave with seven different meals to have on hand in the freezer.  Then we had everyone over for dinner so we could exchange.  This is the best group shot that we got, as you can see Brayden didn't really want to sit still, he is "mid-escape" in this picture.

Sienna was sitting so good!  The little boy on her right is Summit, born just over two weeks after her.

We had a fun time at our MOPS Christmas Party!  However, no luck with getting all the kids to take a group picture.  Surprisingly we got Brayden and Cora to sit for a split second!  Looks like they are having a conversation about shoes.

Here are all the babes, so many little ones, we were running out of room!
ELEVEN kids, all two years old and younger.

All of us Moms had to step in for the picture.  And Auntie Karin (our MOPS table mom) has happy to help with Brayden.  He loves to go to her house!  As soon as we turned on her street, he smiled and said, "Aunties House!  Yahoo!"

Bumbo is so fun!  But sometimes I get sleepy...

Dinner Party with lifelong family friends in Seattle.

Afterwards we went over to Julie & Jacob's home for a sleepover!

Brayden & Uncle Jacob, watching Saturday morning cartoons together.

Then Julie, Sienna and I went to Bellevue to meet up with Mom, Kristina & Karin.

So fun to have my little girl along on our shopping trip, she did so good!  Well, except for one major poo-poo problem.  Let's just say we had to do an outfit change mid-shopping trip.  :)

Below is our lil' pantless girl, on our way to go get the "emergency outfit" from the car.  {Check out her rolls on those thighs, love those.}

Sienna LOVES mirrors!

We stayed the night in Bellevue {thanks Mom!} and then went to Julie & Jacob's church in the morning.  Then Mom, Bray and I did some more shopping on the way home while Brett went to the Hawks game with a friend.  Fun weekend & start to our holiday season!

Mark the baby book! We had our first giggle session...

December 5th (3 months and 5 days old) Sienna had her first giggles!  She has given us a good chuckle here and there, but I just love the sound of a baby giggling.  Last night I was giving her a bath and singing to her ("Splish, splash, I was taking a bath!  Long about a Saturday Night... Rub a dub, just relaxing in the tub..."  You know how it goes.)

However, this time when I was singing to her, I had a lollipop in my mouth, bulging out of my cheek making me sound different.  She thought it was hilarious!  Once she started giggling, I think she thought her giggles were funny too!  She looked surprised at the sounds that she was making and started just cracking up!  So fun.  Didn't get a video, but here is a picture from my cell of her afterwards.

We are off and running with the holiday season!  So far December has brought a really fun lunch at our house with some of our favorite aunties (Auntie Chloe, Auntie Katie, Auntie Kik & Auntie Juju).    Then a big dinner with my highschool girlfriends and their families (I think we had 24 people here) as we did a frozen meal exchange so we would have less cooking to do this busy holiday season.  We have had a MOPS Christmas party, a holiday dinner party with some friends in Seattle.  And stayed a night with Julie & Jacob up at Greenlake.  Then Julie, Mom, Auntie Karin, Kristina, Jantzen, Sienna and I did shopping day in Bellevue.  Mom, Julie, Sienna and I spent the night at the Westin in Bellevue while Brayden and Brett had a guys weekend with Uncle Jacob.  Then more shopping on Sunday, while Brett went to a Seahawks game with a good friend.  Needless to say we have had a jam packed fun start to our December Holiday Season!

Even Brayden, for the very first time EVER, asked if he could go down for a nap, HOURS earlier than the normal time.  That's when you know he had a good time with his Dad & Uncle all weekend (they even took him to Woodland Park Zoo!).

More pictures to come from all our events, but unpacking, Christmas wrapping and laundry are getting done first.  :)  And then of course another holiday function tonight.

Sienna Three Months {Grabbing, Moving & Chatting}

Our little three month old has really blossomed over the last month!  We love being able to see more of her cute personality.  Her temperament is really similar to her brothers at this age.  Easy to smile and loves to "coo".  Everyday it seems she looks bigger and seems to be learning more about how to do things.

"I got it!"

At two and a half months Sienna had her first, reach for something and grab it experience!  It was so fun to watch her go through this.  A week or so before this happened, she noticed, "Oh my goodness!  I can control these 'things' that flail around my head all day! My arms are fascinating!"  Then she started working on trying to control them.  One night she was sitting on my lap facing me.  I had a scarf on that had a black and white tag on it.  Sure enough, that caught her attention and she was on a mission to get it!  I got to sit there for a half hour and watch her work so hard at moving her hand in the direction of this  tag.  Finally, she got it!  She was so pleased!  Within the next day or so she got the hang of it and now starts the phase of "how to do I grab this and put it in my mouth".   :)

Below is a picture of the first thing she grabbed.  I sweater that her Auntie Kik got her mom in Italy.

She still loves her bath time!

"On the Move!"

Nope, not crawling or scooting, but she is moving.  We will call is slithering!  Here is a picture of her, she started out on the middle of the ottoman and managed to get herself halfway to the couch.  She also turns herself in circles.  She has been working really hard on trying to roll over, but hasn't quite mastered the skill of getting her arm out of the way.

"Conversations with Mama"

Sienna has become much more verbal!  We love all her little sounds and that she will have conversations now!  I notice that sometimes when I am on the phone, she thinks I am talking to her and will start to "coo" at me and smile.  We are still waiting for that first true giggle!  She is full of smiles and has given us plenty of single chuckles, but we can't wait for that first time she lets out a good hearty belly laugh.

Below are some pictures that Brett caught of Sienna and I, just chatting away on the couch.

Home bound snow days...

We have much more time at home with this dangerous driving weather...

Here are a few pictures from our time at home.

Brett & Bray enjoyed a walk around the neighborhood.  Saw lots of other kids & neighbors and hardly anyone out driving.  Bray had a blast, but was still so cold, even with his fleece lined jeans and layers under his jacket.  Went straight for a warm bath when they got back!

Sienna loves the playmat.  Auntie Juju got this for Brayden a couple years ago.  Here she is discovering the hanging smiley face character above her!

Brayden LOVES his sister.  He will often join her for some mat time.  He also sings and dances for her daily and gets some pretty sweet smiles when doing so.

If Sienna starts to fuss Brayden will grab her pacifier for her.  Immediatly, she will stop crying and Brayden will exclaim, "Good Job Brayden!"

Brandy used to follow me around EVERYWHERE during the day.  Lately, she has been more likely to keep an eye on our Baby Sienna.  Sienna naps all over the house, sometimes upstairs on Braydens bed so I can see her on the video monitor, sometimes in her crib & sometimes in her pack & play in the guest room downstairs.  Right now she is napping in the pack & play while Bran is on duty...  :)
