Hello Sunshine!

Bray really enjoyed his afternoon outside today!  He is fascinated by everything outside, it is so fun to watch him!  He was good company for me while I took care of some weeding...

Bran was very aware of our vulnerable little baby boy out in her territory.  She stayed pretty close and had an intense stare on any passing neighbor or car...

Party Weekend!

So it's Sunday night and I am sitting here next to Brett (who is mastering his Wii Mario Kart skills) and I ask him what I should label this weekend as.  First response is, "Party Weekend"?

Started with a party for one of Brett's co-workers that is moving away.  I know Brett really enjoyed working with Vicki and the whole JC Higgins will miss her.  We went by the party for a little bit.  It was Brayden's first concert!  Brett's other co-worker is in a band (they are pretty good!  Check them out at http://www.krisorlowski.com/) and they got some music going and soon came a little dancing too!  =)

On Saturday my friend Carly Huff and I threw a shower for our friend (Carly's sister-in-law) Kristal!  Kristal and I go way back (Junior High) and she already has the most adorable little two year old boy.  She is expecting her second boy in July!  We can hardly wait!

So thankful for Jen!  She is the best nanny ever!  I wanted to bring Bray, but I was also hosting so I didn't want to have to take care of him the whole time.  Jen rode with me and took care of him during the shower so I could help set up and do games.  Bray LOVES his Auntie Jen!

Thanks Jen!

Tate is going to be one lucky boy when it comes to playdates!  Lots of little boys his age.  Also, take a closer look at the picture below, looks like Cora is starting to give Brayden flirty eyes...  =)

It was so fun to see Terah and Tagney at the shower!  Tag is just six days younger than Bray and what a cutie!

Brett liked the leftovers that I brought home...  =)

Little did Bray know, everyone was getting cupcakes and he came home to jarred vegetables.  All the same, he gave me some smiles.  He is doing really good and having solid foods twice a day now!

Party Number Three!  On Sunday it was Mom's (Grammy's) Birthday!  Dad's birthday was on Friday too, so we had a BBQ for them.  We were originally going to have it at our house, but on such a beautiful day we decided we would host their birthday BBQ at their house one the lake.

Jacob workin' hard at the grill!

The birthday Grammy with Overfield's baby and Washburn's baby...

Sorry Syd, I think she likes this grandbaby better...

Brett ordered a haircut with his hamburger...  Jacob has turned out to be a full service brother, or as he defined it today, "bromigo!"

The newlyweds!

Dad and his son-in-laws!  The guys took off and went golfing later in the afternoon...
Papa joined them too and won!  He beat Brett, Dad and Jacob.  Also, Jacob got his first ever birdie on a par 3!!!

Caught Dad in the middle of a sneeze on this picture...

We went down and enjoyed a walk at the Fort Steilacoom Dog park!  Bray had a good time looking at all the different dogs!

Our Happy Boy

Here is a short video from last week.  We just LOVE our happy little boy!  This was after his dinner and bath, right before bed time...  Every time I walked towards him he would start giggling, so I grabbed my camera on caught it on video.  We can't get enough of his contagious smiles!

Mother's Day Weekend

What a Mother's Day weekend!  It was my first official Mother's Day, although we did celebrate it last year when I was pregnant...  Last year Brett gave me a ring with a pink tourmaline stone in it, which is the birth stone for October (when Brayden was due).  I remember thinking, "Wow!  I can't believe next Mother's Day I will have a 7 month old baby!"  And here we are a year later!  I had no idea motherhood would be so amazing!  Brayden is such a blessing and so much fun, we just can't get over it.  Every stage so far has been my favorite stage and it just gets better and better!  Bray is so much fun and has so much energy to play but also has a really snuggly side that I just can't get enough of.  Needless to say, he has made me one happy mama!

Not only does Brayden make me a happy mama, but Brett really spoiled me yesterday!  I woke up and came downstairs and he was frosting fresh baked cinnamon rolls!  And getting our latte's started!  He told me to go peek on the front porch and there was my Mother's Day present! Two Adironrack chairs that I had thought would look nice on our front porch and also some flowers and a balloon!  He had written me the sweetest card too...  We then had breakfast and he put together my chairs, fed Bray his fruit and cereal, cleaned him up, dressed him for church and did the dishes!  It was fun to see him do all that while all I had to do was get ready.

Church was really great!  We then went and visited with Grandma Overfield and wished her a  happy mother's day.  After that went to Mom and Dad's for a Mother's Day BBQ.  Normally Julie, Dad Uncle Dan and I plan the BBQ, but I got kicked off the planning committee this year being that I am a Mom.  Lunch was so good and Dad got me beautiful roses for my first mother's day!  Auntie Karin also got me a gorgeous azalea that we can plant in our yard.  What a fun day!

On another note today Brayden is seven months!  He is scooting so fast now and using his legs to scoot.  He will get up on all fours and wobble back and forth to get the feeling of crawling, but then will flatten out and scoot around.  He is such a big fan of Brandy (our golden retriever) and where ever she is, he is headed that way!  He is eating solids twice a day now, some fruit and rice cereal in the morning and then a vegetable in the evening.  Over the last week he has discovered how to make a "t" sound and has been practicing that.  Yesterday morning while Brett was changing his diaper he started practicing a "d" sound by saying "dadadada" which, as you can image, Brett loved!  It was really cute...  =)

~Here are some pictures from our weekend~

Saturday we enjoyed a low key family day, working on the yard and walking around Chambers Bay.  I took this picture of Brett and Bray and then looked at it and I couldn't believe how big he is!

Boxwoods planted!  Also, Brett poured a concrete pad on the side of the house.

Bray spend the afternoon watching us work and bouncing...

Bran loves chasing the tennis ball!

Beautiful day for a walk!

My mother's day presents!  Brett is so sweet...  =)

This is what I woke up too.

Bray woke up while Brett was putting the chairs together.  Wanted to help read the instructions....

Loves his dog!

Family Picture!

Brett and Nathan giving Brandy a good swim!

This kid can't get enough of his dog!

Couldn't help but take this picture...  =)

So blessed to come from a generations of wonderful moms!
