Warm January

What an abnormally warm January! My first choice would be snow, but this would definitely be my second choice...

I had some fun with my new toy (Cannon Rebel) while Brayden played in the back yard the other day. We got a fun toy from Brayden's buddy, Jackson Kemak (he is 4 years old and outgrew it).

I kept trying to get a picture of his HUGE smile as he went down the slide, but every time I would go for the camera, he would go down all by himself and face plant into the grass and laugh! Silly boy... Had to wash the dirt off his face when we were all done!

Continuing Brett's Birthday MONTH! :)

Brett really enjoyed his "Birthday Month"! That's what we call it around here.

We enjoyed a nice dinner on his actual birthday, but I wasn't back to feeling 100% so we put off the rest of the celebrating for another week. Last weekend Jacob and Julie (& Sydney, their dog) came down and spent the weekend with us. Saturday morning, Brett and Jacob left early and met up with Johnny (Jacob's little brother) and took a trip to Portland to do some shopping at the Nike Employee Store! Brett got some fun things (I was nervous with him shopping on his own, that hasn't happened since, well before he met me...). He also picked out a couple pairs of really cute shoes for Bray.

That night we had a small group of friends over to celebrate, have dinner and play games. The next day, after church, we met up with some family at Claim Jumpers for a birthday lunch for Brett!

Bray got to show off some walking to the family at lunch! He needed a little guidance so he didn't trip any waiters... :)

So funny, Brett and Bray ended up matching!!! Brayden spent the night at Bebo & Grammy's so they had no idea they matched until they met up at church!

Long & Lean 15 Month Old!

Brayden had his 15 Month Check Up on Friday. He is one healthy long and lean boy!

He is in the 95% for height and 35% for weight! I don't think anyone is really surprised that we have a tall and thin baby boy. :)

He did really good throughout his appt except for the four shots he had to get. That was no fun for anyone in the room! He quickly got over it and we went and met Brett at Starbucks as a treat after the appointment. Brayden and I shared a yummy strawberry banana smoothie! He had never had one before and REALLY liked it! He had quite a lot and after each slurp he would exclaim, "MMMMMM!!!!"

Swim Time with Dada!

Swimming Lessons started up again! Being that I am not feeling 100%, Brett volunteered to help out, so of course I had to tag along and watch. Brayden is loving the 2nd level class and getting really comfortable. When he first started this new level he was pretty quiet and just watching all the other kids. Now he is back to chatting the whole time and splashing all around!

Brayden has always been pretty good at all the different activities, EXCEPT for laying on his back and floating. Staying still is not something that comes easy for our little busy body! Brett was cracking up as he tried to get Brayden to stay still and float around.

Brett turned 31 on January 14th!

We had such a fun evening. It worked out perfectly to meet Julie at her work (Tacoma Rescue Mission) and switch cars. She took Brayden for us and headed home and we took her car and headed to dinner in Seattle at Palisades! We really enjoyed our time together and the fabulous dinner!

Brayden really enjoyed his time with Jacob, Julie and Sydney! We hung out at their home for a little bit and when we went to go home, Brayden was so sad! He has always been fine to go from here to there, but that night he really wanted to stay and play with the Washburn's...

When we got to Jacob and Julie's we found Brayden pretending to work on mortgage loans with Uncle Jacob, calculator and pen in hand!

Baby #2!

Brett and I are so excited to announce we are expecting Baby #2, early September! I am almost 7 weeks pregnant!

It was so fun to find out on Christmas morning! We were thrilled! On Christmas day we went over to our Grandparent's (Putnams). The whole family was sitting in the living room, as we do every year. Traditionally we get together and read the Christmas Story from the bible. After the scripture reading, Brett lead into his prepared speech to announce to the family that we were expecting a new baby. It was such a special time to share with the family on Christmas Day!

A Five Course Christmas!
