Mother's Day Weekend

What a Mother's Day weekend!  It was my first official Mother's Day, although we did celebrate it last year when I was pregnant...  Last year Brett gave me a ring with a pink tourmaline stone in it, which is the birth stone for October (when Brayden was due).  I remember thinking, "Wow!  I can't believe next Mother's Day I will have a 7 month old baby!"  And here we are a year later!  I had no idea motherhood would be so amazing!  Brayden is such a blessing and so much fun, we just can't get over it.  Every stage so far has been my favorite stage and it just gets better and better!  Bray is so much fun and has so much energy to play but also has a really snuggly side that I just can't get enough of.  Needless to say, he has made me one happy mama!

Not only does Brayden make me a happy mama, but Brett really spoiled me yesterday!  I woke up and came downstairs and he was frosting fresh baked cinnamon rolls!  And getting our latte's started!  He told me to go peek on the front porch and there was my Mother's Day present! Two Adironrack chairs that I had thought would look nice on our front porch and also some flowers and a balloon!  He had written me the sweetest card too...  We then had breakfast and he put together my chairs, fed Bray his fruit and cereal, cleaned him up, dressed him for church and did the dishes!  It was fun to see him do all that while all I had to do was get ready.

Church was really great!  We then went and visited with Grandma Overfield and wished her a  happy mother's day.  After that went to Mom and Dad's for a Mother's Day BBQ.  Normally Julie, Dad Uncle Dan and I plan the BBQ, but I got kicked off the planning committee this year being that I am a Mom.  Lunch was so good and Dad got me beautiful roses for my first mother's day!  Auntie Karin also got me a gorgeous azalea that we can plant in our yard.  What a fun day!

On another note today Brayden is seven months!  He is scooting so fast now and using his legs to scoot.  He will get up on all fours and wobble back and forth to get the feeling of crawling, but then will flatten out and scoot around.  He is such a big fan of Brandy (our golden retriever) and where ever she is, he is headed that way!  He is eating solids twice a day now, some fruit and rice cereal in the morning and then a vegetable in the evening.  Over the last week he has discovered how to make a "t" sound and has been practicing that.  Yesterday morning while Brett was changing his diaper he started practicing a "d" sound by saying "dadadada" which, as you can image, Brett loved!  It was really cute...  =)

~Here are some pictures from our weekend~

Saturday we enjoyed a low key family day, working on the yard and walking around Chambers Bay.  I took this picture of Brett and Bray and then looked at it and I couldn't believe how big he is!

Boxwoods planted!  Also, Brett poured a concrete pad on the side of the house.

Bray spend the afternoon watching us work and bouncing...

Bran loves chasing the tennis ball!

Beautiful day for a walk!

My mother's day presents!  Brett is so sweet...  =)

This is what I woke up too.

Bray woke up while Brett was putting the chairs together.  Wanted to help read the instructions....
